This will probably be a short post, but I just wanted to write this quick encouragement for people my age. We tend to think that because we're teenagers we can do what we want, say what we want, and get away with it. We can have fun and be immature. Do stupid things and not pay the consequences for our actions. Now the world has defined us as this, and we take advantage of it. Now this isn't what it's supposed to be like. Yes, of course, we can have fun and be a little immature at times, but we need to realize that's not what we're here for. Just because you are not an 'adult' yet doesn't mean you can't pursue the Lord and have a relationship with him. It seems so difficult to have a relationship with him when there are so many other things we think are important; friends, school, clothes, and having fun. But that's not what life is for. We were put on this earth to please the Lord and to work for His glory, not for our own enjoyment. A lot of times when we think about having a relationship with the Lord we think that it can wait until later. When we're adults we can start to think about Him, but for right now we're supposed to have fun. No. That's not right. What if we don't make it to be an adult? We don't know if we're going to even be here tomorrow. Anything could happen. We need to stop living like this, and realize that we might not have tomorrow. We have to live as if there was no tomorrow. We need to have a closer relationship with the Lord now. Don't wait. Please. I know it's difficult. I do this all the time; I keep saying that it's not important right now but I am soo wrong. It is so important right now. If we start our relationship with the Lord now, imagine what kind of relationship we'll have when we're older. We might not have tomorrow, and if we have kept saying "it can wait" it could be too late. You have this chance now. Tomorrow you might not have this chance so use it now.
I want to recommend that you watch this four part series. It's really amazing. It talks about things that these teens have struggled with and how they over came them and came to the Lord. I watched these this week and I loved it. I really suggest watching them. They're each about twenty minutes long, but so worth it.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. -Timothy 4:12
